Maybe both are right. I certainly accept the honesty of those former paramilitaries who felt that they had no option but to take up arms. I suppose literally one always has a choice - if someone moved into my house, abused my children and me and refused to move out or stop abusing, I'd still have a choice but I'd feel I had to respond, with physical force very likely. As to life being lost or taken, again I think it's both. If you take my life - or vice versa - I lose it. <br />As to literate, I'd like to think I am. As to using words by accident, I frequently do. &...Jude<br />What bothers me is your use of phrases like<br />"had to suffer"<br />"had to occur"<br />"had to die".<br />The implication is that all the suffering and death was inevitable, that those who inflicted it had no choice.<br />I can't quite decide if that is your belief, or if you are merely telling us what you think the death enablers believe.
